seems weird. i guess i'm on crack because i cared not much for either of Jared's photos this week.

Jono, you complain when you arent called higher, yet you put yourself low in your own callouts? whats with that?!?!

i certainly complained about the photos that were chosen, but i don't remember complaining that i wasn't called higher.

in fact, my complaint was posted before callouts were announced.

obviously you thought you'd be called higher if your favorite shots were chosen.

my bad, when i rank myself, i tend to pick what i think is my best shot, not the one from panel. that's why i don't rank myself.

not everyone submits photos in the unused frames thread. it would be unfair to judge those who had based on what i thought their best photos were.

this i swhy we should all post our unused photos.

of course, when i use what i think is my best, i use everyone else's from panel.

i'm certainly not one to feign modesty. my own chosen photos would have probably seen me rank myself second or third. but i am biased.

Most of the time i just base my callouts on who followed the brief the best. So don't take offence if you are towards the bottom.

This is just what confuses me so much lol. You base yours around who follows the brief best, leigh bases his around who has the best fashion element to it. Other judges base it mainly on eye contact or interesting poses. There's so much to take in lol! I decided that with the vampire shoot I wanted to go more down the simplistic modelling root with clean shapes, a fashion element and good connection with the camera. I thought that the vampire aspect was probably the least important part because it could be done subtly. I didn't want to drench myself in blood or make fake fangs - I thought that would make it more an art shot than a fashion shot.

It's not what you use it's how you do it

Two people can have the exact same styling, settings, props and essential pose and expression
One could be brilliant
One could be shit
It doesn't matter about the exact specifics
You just have to push harder and make it pop

Like for example, Stevie, your Avatar at a Halloween Party
Because you're just going for it cos you're having fun and just being silly, it looks SO good
Don't try and try as hard, make sure you're having fun and loosen up
You'd be really good if you didn't try as hard, don't try and look like something, just flow with it and have fun and go "BRLRKGUGH!"
